Armor of God: Part 1

Dear Readers,  I know I have started writing articles on the Fruit of the Spirit, but at the moment I am unable to continue those articles until later on. So I have decided to start writing about the Armor of God. It is a subject I am learning about in my devotions using the "You Version" Bible app (which I recommend). To start on this topic I am going to summarize the first day of the devotion and try to help you understand what I read. Not only do I hope it will help you to grow in the Lord, but writing and explaining these things helps cement these ideas in my mind. So let's begin! We use our five senses every day we wake up and every night when we fall asleep. Smell, taste, sight, touch, and hearing are vital for everyday living. No doubt they would be hard to live without. The things in your life that are the most troubling are all perceived using those senses. I am here to tell you that those are not the real issues. All that occurs in the physical world is c...

Poem by Sam

When the hard times never seem to end, I trust in Him.   When trapped in a world of sin, I remember Him.   When surrounded by anger that overwhelms me, all I have to do is remember Him.   When surrounded by hearts of sorrow, and the hurt and angry drowns me. When all is lost, when all is hard and tuff, I remember Him.   He is the one who loves and cares for us.   I remember He is my savior, He is my comfort when all is tuff.   I remember, I remember.   He is my strength and my light.   He’s the one who I believe, the one who knows, the one who is my path and my home.   Forever and ever I will trust in Him.   He will help me against the dark and evil sin, against Satan’s tricks.   I remember Him, The Lord Jesus Christ. He is my path, and He is my light.

Spiritual Gifts

Do you all have a Spiritual Gift? The answer to that is yes if you have accepted Christ as your Savior and you are a born- again believer.  But, do you know what your gifts are? First off, we need to find where the spiritual gifts can be found. Pastor taught me an easy way to find them. The four books all mention the gifts in either chapters 4 or 12. So, Romans 12: 6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Ephesians 4:11, and 1 Peter 4:10-11. Here is a list of the spiritual gifts mentioned in those four books: -Prophecy -Service -Teaching -Exhortation (Encouragement) -Giving -Leading -Mercy -Wisdom -Knowledge -Faith -Healing -Miracles  -Distinguishing Spirits -Speaking in Tounges  -Interpreting Tounges -Apostles -Evangelists -Pastor-Teachers -Speakers The ones in bold are not present in the Church today, and they were only meant for the New Testament church. I could explain more about that if you want me to. Let me know in the comments. Also, there are many g...

I'm a Rebel

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on when you are reading this! Mary Beau here! This blog idea came from one of my favorite artists. His name is Lecrae and he writes or performs Christian Rap songs. In this specific one, he talks about how Jesus was a rebel. The definition of a Rebel is "a person who rises in opposition against a government or ruler" according to the Oxford Dictionary. This idea is commonly associated with the 1960s with 'hippies' as rebels. The teens were beginning to think "What if my parents don't know it all. What if I have been living life wrong?" So, they would rebel. They would disobey authority and do what they thought is right. Now as a Christian, we immediately think "but that is not what we are supposed to do. We need to obey authority as Romans 13 says." That would be the correct thought if it was not for the government and culture that we have. I have been told many times "It does not matter wh...

Advice from Jake

Here we go again! Jake is still busy, but he loves giving profound and helpful information that he would love to share with you. Here we go: "Give Me Faith" By Elevation Worship. It's an awesome song that my worship team played yesterday. The chorus of this song says "Give me faith to trust what you say. That you're good and your love is great. I'm broken inside, I give you my life." That's quite a line. "Give me faith to trust what you say..." How easy is it for us to forget that God is perfect and has a perfect plan for us? It's pretty easy. "That you're good and your love is great..." I don't think I really need to say anything about that, it speaks for itself. Finally "I'm broken inside, I give you my life." We can't do it by ourselves. Look at the world right now, it's broken. But what's not broken? How about those who put their trust in God? That's what happens when we give ourselv...
