Are You Still Thankful?

It's been close to three months since thanksgiving. Do people still remember what it was like? In my experience, I did not really appreciate the meaning of thanksgiving until the past few years. I always enjoyed watching the parade and eating food, but that was about it. God has been working in my heart, though, and now I am truly thankful and grateful during the season. But it should be more than just a season, right? I mean the VERY NEXT DAY people are all selfish about who can purchase their desired items before the store runs out. And the Macy's Day Parade itself does not really ever mention being thankful for what the Lord has provided, but it all about glorifying other humans with their talents (which isn't all bad) and then goes straight into the Christmas season...with Santa. Sometimes I wonder if Thanksgiving such be placed AFTER Christmas so people can be thankful, even if they did not receive what they wanted, or placed farther away from the 'season of gett...

Advice from Our New Author

Hi, this is Mary here. You are all probably confused because "Mary is not a new author!" That is true. But, I am here to copy messages from a new author whom you will hopefully see more of later. Jake Williams is a PK- a pastor's kid. He helps out in the church often and is using his gift of serving to honor the Lord. This friend of mine has a strong relationship with his Maker and a well-developed understanding of the Bible. He, of course, is not perfect (and I am sure he would be one of the first to admit it as well). He has lots of good things to say, and great points he makes whether helping TEAM as a new leader or just randomly spilling thoughts on his mind. I may create some of these paragraphs as unique articles once he makes time to create some, but for now, I wanted to give you readers a sneak peek of what is hopefully coming from Jake Williams. "I've had people tell me that they don't feel like they have the right to talk to or serve God. When ...

Relationships from a Christian Perspective

So I know that my friend, Sabine, posted about Love as a Fruit of the Spirit. But, what about "lovey love"? I will try to help answer this question. First off, if you are feeling bad about not having a 'soulmate' or a boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/fiance that is okay. Paul says in 1 Corinthians that "to the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am." (7:8)  No relationship is perfect when humans are involved. Often you can save yourself strive by not getting into a relationship. I mean, I would not mind if I stayed single my whole life: cheaper food,  way less stress,  and no 'rules' except for what the government and bible say as well as what you chose. For example, if you want to eat ice cream on the couch, you don't have any spouse telling you not to. Or singing in the shower. Or almost anything like that...maybe a midnight snack? Anyway, I hope you get the idea. While I say that, I also have to explain...

Random Thoughts

Hi, Mary here! I wanted to do something maybe a little bit more "fun" on this blog. I know that though the information on this blog can be helpful, it probably is really boring after article after article about things you can LEARN. How about something you can simply just think about without having to answer, or some funny comments that you can just laugh at. I am inviting other TEAM members to create their random thoughts if they want to, but I doubt they have such crazy of a brain like mine.  1. I have been reading through the Old Testament (OT) and I have considered recording, in bullet point format, a list of the jobs that the priests had and exactly how to apply each one depending on the case. 2. If the priest had to touch the unclean people to deem them clean again or still unclean, wouldn't the priests be unclean? 3. When Pharoah's eldest son died, did any of the other Egyptians NOT lose the firstborn son? What about any Israelites who disobeyed God...

What is Love?

Dear Readers,  Today, I want to talk about love. It is a subject that might bring many images to mind; hearts, cards, roses, and romance. With Valentines Day approaching I thought this would be a perfect topic to write about. Love is a topic that almost anyone knows about; it can be seen in the books you read, and the shows you watch (the world shows a different kind of love in their TV shows or romance novels).  I have recently been going through a woman's devotional book called,  A Woman's Walk with God: Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit . The chapter that I finished recently was about love, not the love that you may be thinking about with the hearts, cards, roses, and romance, but the love that God has to offer.  There are so many verses in the New Testament that show that the topic of love is important to God: -Living in love (Ephesians 5:2) -Loving the people around you (John 15:12) -Loving our neighbors (Matthew 22:39) -Lovin...
