Simply the Gospel

Dear Readers, 

The Gospel is what Christ-followers around the world stand on in their beliefs. While some may think that it is complicated, I find that you can understand the Gospel through what is called The Romans' Road. 

All are sinners: Romans 3:23 says this, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." No one is perfect and everyone is a sinner. God created a world that was perfect, but because Adam and Eve sinned the world was cursed. 

Consequences of sin: Romans 6:23 says this, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Because we are sinners we are separated from God, but there is hope! 

Christ died for us, and He demonstrates His love toward us: Romans 5:8 says this, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. He was sinless and perfect, and the only person that could take our punishment upon Him. It is a free gift wrapped up with a beautiful bow on top, waiting for you to open it.

All we need to do is believe: Romans 10:9 says this, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved," If you trust in Jesus, that He came and died on the cross for your sins, that there is no other way to heaven, and God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day you will be saved. If you truly trust He is Lord of your life you will be saved.

Result of salvation: Romans 5:1 says this, "Therefore since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Because we have believed in Christ, God calls us His children. We have been justified through Jesus Christ.


"No matter how 'bad'  you are, you are not too bad for Christ. No matter how 'good' you are, you are not good enough to make your way to heaven without accepting the free gift.

The gospel, though it may seem confusing at first, is really simple. I always think of the song Simple by Jordan Feliz. He explains "leave it up to me/to make it much harder than it should be". We want to complicate something that doesn't have to be." ~ Mary

Gone, But Not Forgotten

 Hello, y'all! I feel like I always begin my blog posts with something along the lines of "long time no see'" and it is really sad to continue with this pattern. I could list a ton of excuses. Firstly, I could mention that I am now in college. Secondly, I could mention that I am working three jobs. Thirdly, I could mention that our Bible Study group has kind of fallen apart for a few reasons which I will not get all into detail about now. Long Time No See

Wow, it has been a while since we have said anything here, huh? I was just taking the time to look over the blog this morning and I noticed that all of our actual "Newsletters" that we posted here were from 2019. That seems like such a long time ago. We have not posted on this blog since April of 2020. That means it has been almost a year since this blog has been regularly used.  Many of our viewers, like you, probably like that we just forgot about it, right? Like we got so busy in our regular lives that we forgot to make time to blog. Or, we were so busy in our Bible Study that we forgot we had a blog, so while there was so much that was content-worthy, there was nothing that we posted because we can't post on something we do not know exists. Sadly, neither of those are true. But, the first is the closest.  About this time last year, our group was going through some things emotionally, but once we got that all under control life got chaotic. YouVersion Bible App

Hi, Mary here! I know this is an unusual post, but I really want to talk about this app. YouVersion is a bible app if you can't tell by the title. YouVersion allows you to see what your friends have done with the app, what bible studies they are doing, and some notes they have taken if they allow you to see it. This encourages me because I like to see that I am not the only one reading my bible or learning from it. YouVersion rewards you for using the app whether from highlighting, reading the whole bible, or using there bible study suggestions. As Sabine knows, points and badges, even if they don't mean anything or aren't tangible, it motivates me. YouVersion is free and works offline. This is not rare for a bible app, but what is different about this one is because you can download every version of the bible that you want when you have internet, so you could use it when you go offline. I had a previous app that allowed you to do that with a limit. You had to pay for...
