Answered Prayer
Dear Readers,
For this article, I want to go back two weeks to S.E.W(Spiritual Enrichment Week). It is a Christian camp that I had the privilege to go to. I was able to see some of my old friends I hadn't seen for almost a year or so, and we were able to learn what it means to be an AUTHENTIC Christian(I will write an article on that soon). :D
For the first few days there I was feeling homesick and I had some anxiety. It was strange because I normally never feel homesick when I attend camp, but this time it was different and I really wanted to hear something from my parents, but the camp was a seven hour bus drive and it was high in the mountains where there was no reception.
That year, the school that was doing S.E.W had set up this telegram system, where parents could send their kids a message in morse code. Through much of that week, I felt alone and somewhat abandoned by God. I had meant to tell my mom or dad about the telegram thing before I left, but I forgot. So in my mind there was no way that I would hear from them until I got back.
However, being as homesick as I was, I prayed that my sister and I would receive a telegram. The likeliness of that happening didn't seem very high. The day that the telegrams came in I was able to watch as they were being sent to us. It was really cool to watch, but it wasn't until the next day that anyone received their messages. You can imagine my surprise when my sister and I got one.
Now I keep that telegram in my Bible, as a reminder that God was there and He heard my silent prayer. Every time I think about it I am reminded that God loves me so much, that He knew what that simple note would mean to me. It's a constant reminder of His love, and how He listens and answers prayer.
Sincerely,
Sabine G. Anderson
